Fit & Well – New Year, New You! On average only about 20% of us keep our New Year’s resolutions. Unfortunately, some of the biggest failures are found in fitness resolutions. But don’t let the statistics get you down. By following these tips you’ll be better equipped for success: • Choose an obtainable goal like including daily fitness. • Avoid choosing a resolution that you’ve been unsuccessful at achieving year after year. • Break it down and make it less intimidating. Rather than one BIG end goal, dissect it into smaller pieces. Set several smaller goals to achieve throughout the year. • Reward yourself with each milestone. If you’ve stuck with your resolution for 2 months, treat yourself to something special. • Don’t go it alone! Do it with a friend or get some professional assistance. • Limit your number of promises. You’ll spread yourself too thin trying to make multiple changes in your life. This will just lead to failure of all of the resolutions. Read more here from Performance Body Works.
Did you know that you can recycle a whole lot more than paper and glass? Your old reading or sun-glasses can be shipped to people in developing countries who cannot afford a pair. Drop off unwanted sunnies and glasses – even if they are broken – to any OPSM, Laubman & Pank or Budget Eyewear. Or visit www.lionsclubs.org.au/recycle-for-sight for more details. Over the 15 years that the Australian programme has existed, it has delivered 2.5 million pairs of glasses to developing countries. Now that’s a great idea! Read more great tips here.

February 2009

|
Welcome February is already upon us, children are back to school, and days continue to fly past us. In what we are told are precarious times many people have made the decision to resume work, which means we are all spreading ourselves a little thinner. Whether it is caring for children, spending time with aging relatives or even caring for infirm or frail parents, we have less time to spend on the more mundane, but very necessary domestic duties. After working all week, you really do not need to spend family and “me” time cleaning the home as well! When it all gets too much for you, remember that DIAL-AN-ANGEL does more than just cleaning houses.
We have Angels to care for children and take them to and from afternoon activities, and we can also provide carers for aging family members. Angels are available to run errands and keep the household running smoothly. Angels to assist at parties for clearing up, preparing and serving food and beverages are now in high demand. Many of our clients prefer to entertain at home and have the support of our Angels to ensure their homes are left spick and span after the party. To get a little more out of your day why not take a fresh look at what we can do for you in and around the home. Just visit our website or give us a call on 1300 721 111.
Until next time, travel safely, Danielle Robertson CEO, DIAL-AN-ANGEL Pty Limited |
